According to a report from Malaysia’s Ministry of Environment, the cross-border haze originating from Indonesia has persisted for the seventh consecutive week, with pollutants carried by air currents continuing to shroud the Malay Peninsula and the state of Sarawak. Air pollution continues to worsen in the districts of Lubuk Andu and Kanai in Sarawak, while 21 areas nationwide still have air quality at “unhealthy” levels. PM2.5 concentrations in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and other areas far exceed the World Health Organization’s safety standards.
