Emergency Cleanup of Toxic Contamination at a Factory in Western Washington State

On October 10, the U.S. EPA launched an emergency cleanup operation at the Cosmopolitan Specialty Fibers site in Washington State. The site contains large quantities of toxic chemical waste, and the soil and groundwater have been contaminated for a long time; risk management measures are being implemented.
