China’s Offshore PV-Hydrogen Production Achieves New Breakthrough in Renewable Energy Technology

On April 21, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Energy Administration jointly unveiled a technology combining offshore photovoltaic power generation with direct seawater hydrogen production. They announced plans to construct megawatt-scale offshore PV-hydrogen projects in the South China Sea and the East China Sea, addressing the global challenges of high green hydrogen costs and seawater pollution.
