The ongoing deterioration of cetacean mortality in the Black Sea

has seen a sharp increase in deaths among small cetaceans like dolphins along the coasts of Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and other nations. Hundreds of carcasses have been discovered in some areas, with mortality rates rising 3 to 5 times higher than pre-war levels. Suspected causes include multiple factors such as military activities, marine pollution, and noise disturbance, resulting in severe damage to the ecosystem.
