From 9 to 13 June 2025, the United Nations Oceans Assembly will be held in Nice, France. The Conference will bring together Heads of Government and leaders from intergovernmental organizations, the United Nations system, civil society, the private sector, youth and others to promote urgent action for the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources in support of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Conference will be the first United Nations Oceans Conference since the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Biodiversity Framework and the Agreement on Marine Biological Diversity in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction, and is of great significance in promoting ocean conservation.
