On February 26, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a bulletin stating that an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections associated with energy-supplemented beverages in several U.S. states has resulted in 38 infections and 12 deaths, and that the affected energy-supplemented beverage brands have announced recalls of their products.
