According to the British “Mirror” reported on December 11, the United States of America, the town of Rumford, Maine, brown snow, this discoloration of the snow is caused by a century-old local paper mill emissions of chemicals, although non-toxic, but will irritate the skin and eyes. The waste discharged from the paper mill itself is alkaline, with a ph value of 10, while tests by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection found that the brown snow had a ph value of less than 8.
