December 5, 2024 – Climate change is causing the artificial lake Jablanik near Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to dry up to the bottom, and the drying up of the lake will affect the ecological balance of the entire region. Many wild animals are facing huge challenges to their survival as they lose their habitats and water sources, and some species may even go extinct as a result. The imbalance in the ecosystem will in turn trigger a series of chain reactions, such as increased soil erosion and reduced air quality, which will further threaten human health and survival.
