Australia has experienced a number of large-scale forest fires in the past, and while there were no fires in 2024 that were as severe as in previous years, the environmental impacts of fires continue. Forest fires have burned large areas of forest vegetation, resulting in reduced soil fertility and loss of biodiversity.
