South Pacific nations join forces to protect cetaceans’ home

New Zealand’s Minister for Natural Resources Conservation, Chris Carter, says a number of countries in the South Pacific will sign an agreement to protect cetaceans and dolphins. The Memorandum of Understanding, based on the International Migratory Species Conservation Regulations (IMSCR), will be signed by at least 11 countries in the South Pacific, and sets out a series of voluntary provisions for the protection of cetaceans and dolphins.
