Oyster reefs along the Adelaide coastline in South Australia, Australia, have been successfully restored. Marine scientists from the University of Adelaide constructed 14 limestone reefs at the site in late 2020, and in just two and a half years the habitat has been transformed into a thriving marine metropolis, providing an important template and guide for marine restoration efforts around the globe.
