Champions of the Earth: nations building ecological walls of protection

The United Nations Environment Programme announced the winners of the 2024 Champions of the Earth awards on 10 December, with individuals and organizations from Brazil, the United States, Romania, China, India and other countries receiving awards for their outstanding leadership, courageous actions and sustainable solutions to land degradation, drought and desertification.
