Oil Tanker Near Dubai, UAE, Hit by Projectile and Catches Fire

On March 30 local time, an oil tanker fully loaded with crude oil was struck by an unidentified projectile on its starboard side and caught fire in waters approximately 31 nautical miles northwest of Dubai. The incident occurred in a major shipping lane with heavy traffic. Currently, all crew members are safe with no casualties reported, and there have been no reports of fuel leakage or marine pollution. However, as the tanker is carrying a large amount of crude oil, there remains a potential risk of severe marine pollution should a leak occur.
