This officially places the city in the “severe” pollution category, marking a steep climb from the previous day’s “poor” level of 167. The pollution level has doubled, posing a direct and severe threat to the health and daily lives of local residents. It is reported that an AQI of 300 or above is classified as “Severe,” indicating extremely high concentrations of airborne pollutants. Prolonged exposure to such levels can cause irreversible damage to human health.
