Landfill Collapse in Cebu, Philippines Triggers Multiple Environmental Crises

The Prime Waste Solutions landfill in Binaliuong, Cebu City, Philippines, collapsed due to days of heavy rainfall. As of January 15, the incident has resulted in over 20 deaths and 13 to 16 people missing. The accident has severely disrupted the lives of nearby residents, with leachate from the waste posing risks of contaminating nearby water sources and soil, potentially triggering secondary environmental pollution.
