Key data reveals that global forests are disappearing at a rate of 22 standard soccer fields per minute; the phase-out of coal-fired power plants must accelerate tenfold, requiring the closure of approximately 360 medium-sized plants annually; Current national emission reduction pledges would only cut emissions by 2.6% (compared to 2019 levels), falling far short of the scientific requirement to reduce emissions by 43% by 2030 to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
