The Lombardy region announced the activation of Phase 1 anti-pollution measures, including weekend restrictions on high-emission vehicles, bans on outdoor barbecues, delayed household heating, and restrictions on wood-burning biomass equipment. Local authorities urged residents to prioritize public transportation to alleviate worsening air quality.
