Iraq’s First Waste Incineration Power Generation Project Laid the Foundation Stone

China Kangheng Environmental Company invested 500 million US dollars to build a waste incineration power project in Baghdad with a capacity of 3,000 tons/day, equipped with 100MW power generation unit, and annual power generation capacity can be used by 10 million residents. The project aims to solve the long-term waste pollution problem in Iraq and promote green energy transformation. As the first project of its kind in Iraq, its success will provide an example of sustainable solid waste management in the Middle East and contribute to regional emissions reduction targets.
