On March 10, local time, Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, officially launched a large-scale ecological restoration project, breaking ground for the Nairobi River Basin Comprehensive Management Project contracted by Guangxi Electric Power Design and Research Institute of China Energy Construction Group. The project covers dredging of the river, upgrading of the sewage treatment system, rainwater flood control project and construction of 10,000 sets of guaranteed housing. It is expected that through systematic ecological management, the pollution problem of the Nairobi River will be completely improved, and the flood control capacity of the city will be upgraded, which will benefit 500,000 residents in the surrounding area.
