On January 20, 2025, according to the Chinese Marine Police, in 2024, the Chinese Marine Police Bureau carried out the “Blue Sea” special law enforcement action, and marine police agencies at all levels seized more than 250 cases of pirated mining of sea sand, illegal use of the sea, illegal dumping, and threats to the safety of submarine cables and pipelines; and seized more than 20 cases involving precious and endangered wildlife, and more than 1200 coral plants and more than 12,700 seahorses and more than 12,700 tails. More than 20 cases involving precious and endangered wildlife were seized, and more than 1,200 corals and 12,700 seahorses were seized alive.
