The flood barriers at the mouth of a river in Paranaque City were breached by the floodwaters, causing accumulated household garbage, plastic waste, and construction debris to spread across the river\u2019s surface. The floating debris has blocked waterways, exacerbating urban flooding. Sanitation crews have so far retrieved approximately 400 metric tons of waste, but as the rain continues unabated, more trash keeps being washed into rivers and lakes, creating a heavy burden for cleanup efforts.
