The involved Trans-Oceanic Atlantic Train, carrying 250 people (9 crew members and 241 passengers), derailed while crossing a bridge and plunged into a valley approximately 7 meters deep. The accident resulted in 13 deaths and 98 injuries, including 5 seriously injured individuals. Thirty-six people remain hospitalized for treatment, while 139 have been rescued.
